About the Band
BOOMM emerged from the Silicon Valley’s vibrant music scene in 2005. Our sound blends rock & jazz with traditional Indian influences. Our signature sound features layered vocals and intricate instrumentals that transcend conventional genres. For the past 2 decades, we’ve performed at various fundraisers, festivals and private events in the Bay Area. Bollywood. Jazz. Punk Rock. Whatever.
Meet the Band
Anand
Anand’s vocal journey began in 1998 with Maa Tujhe Salaam at a Kargil Relief concert, and he’s been chasing that high ever since. With no formal training but decades of gigs - from big stages to echoey bathrooms - he brings Chennai roots, Hyderabadi flair, and California cool to every song.
Dharmesh
Dharmesh started drumming young, turning kitchenware into a percussion playground and vibing to every genre he could find. He picked up skills the old-fashioned way - by jamming, listening, and skipping the syllabus entirely.
Kalyan
Kalyan is a master of the keys, adding lush harmonies and soaring melodies that elevate our sound.
Malavika
Malavika stirs up complex rhythms with soulful vocals that somehow make chaos sound poetic - then dashes off to her classes at Berkeley like it’s no big deal. She’s our secret weapon in hoodies and sneakers.
Rahul
Rahul’s guitar work blends melody and rhythm like a secret sauce, taking our songs from good to goosebumps. He’s got a degree of “vision” and a plan to make it happen — usually involving pedals and precision.
Ritesh
Guitarist, percussionist, classical vocalist and producer - basically a multi-tasking musical powerhouse with genre commitment issues. He juggles strings, beats and studio knobs like it’s all one beautifully chaotic instrument.
Shwetha
Some people get lucky with their voice - Shwetha enhanced inherent talent with classical training. She’s the band’s resident soul-stirrer, with a voice that simultaneously feels like comfort food and a mic drop
Sunil
Lead vocals with a powerful range that anchors our sound. Not only is Sunil a 'Breathless' singer ... he can also teach us all a thing or two about fine Indian spirits.
Vasant
As our resident bass virtuoso, Vasant Sai lays down the deep, groovy foundation that propels our sound forward.
